Offered exclusively at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Costa Rica La Cascada Tarrazu single origin coffee is balanced, clean, and mild. Prized for bright, crisp taste, Costa Rica La Cascada comes from the high altitude farms in the Tarrazu region where rich soils produce some of the best coffees in the land. Costa Rica La Cascada Tarrazu is medium-bodied with a fragrant aroma and bright crisp flavor. This coffee is slightly more complex than La Minita, and a bit more robust.
Product Description
Profile: Medium-bodied with a fragrant aroma and bright crisp flavor. This coffee is slightly more complex than La Minita, with a bit more body.
Place: Alumbre River Valley, Tarrazu region, Costa Rica. This coffee is named after a waterfall on the Alumbre river, near where it intersects the Tarrazu River. Average altitude is 4,500 feet.
People: 300 individual small farmers contribute 100% of their fruit for our exclusive use. Most farmers are of second or third generation in the coffee business. Farm sizes range from a few acres to more than 200 acres.
Process: Coffee fruit is hand selected by the farmers and tendered for sale to our representative at the mill, where coffee fruits are pulped, fermented, fully washed, machine dried and meticulously sorted to remove imperfect beans. We roast this coffee to a medium color to highlight the subtle character.
Pairing: Fresh peaches or plums, walnut coffee cake.
Instructions
8 oz: Makes approximately 25 cups of coffee
12 oz: Makes approximately 35-40 cups of coffee
16 oz: Makes approximately 50 cups of coffee
20 oz: Makes approximately 60-65 cups of coffee
32 oz: Makes approximately 90-100 cups of coffee
BREWING TIP: Use cold, filtered water and a clean machine.
GRIND only as much as you need for one cup or one pot of coffee.
CHOOSE the correct grind. Fine for espresso, medium for automatic drip, coarse for French Press.
MEASURE ground coffee to taste. Start with two level tablespoons of ground coffee per six ounces of cold filtered or bottled water.
STORE in an airtight container to protect the flavor and aroma and ensure rich, fresh tasting coffee. Do not freeze or refrigerate.
